Who are their doctors and specialists? What prescriptions do they take? Which hospital do they prefer? What Medicare coverage do they currently have? Have their healthcare needs changed recently? Is there something about their coverage they don’t understand?
Most importantly, ask your parent what matters to them.
Sometimes family members naturally focus on what they think is best. But your parent’s healthcare preferences, doctors, prescriptions and priorities should be at the center of the conversation.
Then bring those questions to someone who works with Medicare every day.
